보통 논란과 루머로 인해 이미지가 나빠지면 연예인으로서 적극적인 대응을 하기 마련인데, 이상하게도 본인이나 소속사에서 이렇다 할 해명이나 반박을 하지 않았다. 탈락 후 자신의 팬카페에 소감글을 올리면서 '어릴 적 일은 반성하고 있다'고 밝혔으나, 소수만 볼 수 있고 그녀에게 상당히 우호적인 팬카페의 성격을 생각하면 미묘하다고 밖에 볼 수 없다. 정식으로 논란에 입을 연 건 10여년 전 슈퍼스타K2가 끝난 후 일부 참가자들이 출연한 '비틀즈 코드'에서 일진설에 대해 해명하는 시간을 갖는 정도였다. 다만 여기에서도 '그저 놀기 좋아해서 친구들과 어울려 논 것이다'는 식으로 말하며 철없던 과거로 치부하는 등 석연치 않은 해명을 보인 바 있다.

또한 라이벌 미션에서 자신의 상대가 현승희[5][6]라는 말을 듣고 표정이 굳어진 장면[7]도 있어서 일부한테서는 '현승희가 박보람이 무서워 긴장해서 떨어지지 않았나'라는 우스갯소리가 들려왔고, 그 장면으로 인해 이미지가 실추된 적이 있었다.

많은 사람들이 당당하게 활동하는 걸 보고 좋지 않게 생각하지만, 본인은 정작 의식하지 않고 매우 당당한 모습을 보여줬다. 연예계에서 2021년 학교폭력 폭로 사건이 발생하자 해당 의혹이 재조명된 후 인터넷에서 "확실하게 진상규명을 하자"는 반응이 있었다.

그러나 2024년에 본인이 사망하면서 본 논란은 해결되지 않은 채로 끝났다.

다만 승희가 오마이걸에서 보컬로 활동하면서 히트곡도 많이 냈고, 각종 예능에도 나와 성공하면서 그냥 상대가 신경쓰여서 그런 것 아니냐는 의견도 있다. 물론 그 땐 이 정도까지 성공할줄 몰랐겠지만, 당시에도 승희는 기본 재능은 상당히 좋았다.

8. 여담

  • 2017년 12월 같은 슈스케 출신인 7살 연상의 서인국과 1년 6개월째 열애 중임을 인정했으나 2018년 5월 결별했다.
  • 잘 먹으며, 원나잇 푸드트립에 허영지와 파트너로 터키에 가서 기존 여성 출연자들과 차별화된 먹방을 보여줬는데 이 때의 활약을 바탕으로 정준하, 돈 스파이크과 같이 경쟁한 바 있다.[8] 리스본에서 열렸는데 심지어 최종 우승까지 차지했다. 식신으로 유명한 정준하야 유명하지만 새로운 먹방계의 신성으로 떠오르는 돈 스파이크 또한 이전 출연에서 '자기가 너무 먹으면 믿지 않을까 봐 자제했다'는 얘기를 할 정도로 둘째가라면 서러워할 식신인데 둘 다 박보람에게 졌다. 다만 정준하는 중간 중간 컨디션이 안 좋았고 돈 스파이크도 Guilty by oliver라는 식당에서 2.2kg 햄버거를 도전하여(1시간 완식 조건) 실패했지만 어쨌든 완식에서 성공한 이후에 컨디션이 급격히 나빠지기는 했다.[9]
  • 생전에 365일 중 360일이나 술을 마신다고 했을 정도로 애주가였다. 아버지는 간경화, 어머니는 간암, 본인의 부검 결과로 밝혀진 정확한 사인도 급성 알코올 중독인 것으로 보아서 집안 대대로 B형 간염을 유전받았다는 등의 사유로 간이 좋지 않았던 것으로 보인다. 평소 간경변과 지방간이 있었다. 체중 변화가 심한 연예인의 생활과 애주가인 생활 습관으로 인해 간에 무리가 상당히 갔던 것으로 보인다.
