Party in the U.S.A. 때에도, We Can't Stop 때에도 치열한 차트 경쟁에 때문에 빌보드 2위에 만족해야 했던 마일리였는데, Wrecking Ball을 통해 그녀 커리어 사상 첫 빌보드 핫 100 1위를 달성했다. 데뷔 첫 주에는 50위였으나, 상승세를 타다가 뮤직비디오 파동 이후 순위가 치솟은 것이다.
