자이언트 스패로우에서 발매한 스토리 어드벤처 게임. 에디스 핀치의 시선에서 핀치 가문 구성원들의 저주받은 것 같은 운명과 최후를 그렸다. 텍스트 배치와 화면 구성등 수준 높은 연출력으로 평론가들과 유저들에게 높은 평가를 받았다.

2019년 4월 PS4 PSN 무료 게임으로 제공되었다.

3. 특징

에디스 핀치라는 인물의 회상을 통해 핀치 가족에게 일어난 일들을 되짚어보는 형식으로 이야기가 전개된다. 플레이하다보면 상당히 심오하고 미스테리한 분위기 그 속에 숨겨진 깊은 스토리에 감탄할 수 있으며, 편지, 시집, 사진첩, 만화책 등의 다양한 사물들이 과거로의 연결 매체로 쓰인다. 또 주인공인 에디스는 게임하는 내내 플레이어가 예측하지 못할 특이한 길로 다니거나 사람들의 충격적인 과거사를 지켜보면서도 결코 당황하는 법이 없는데 마치 너무나도 익숙한 집과 가족들의 과거사를 회상하는 느낌인데 이게 마치 말없는 주인공의 느낌이 들어 게임의 몰입도를 높여준다.

제작사에서 공식적으로 이 게임의 정해진 스토리는 없다라고 공언한 바 있다.[5]

그간 게임이라고 부르기도 어려웠던 워킹 시뮬레이터를 완벽하게 깎아낸 게임이라는 호평을 받았다. 훌륭한 그래픽[6], 깔끔한 나레이션, 스토리와 스토리를 표현하는 방식들까지 전부 다 극호평을 받았다.

여담으로, 2017년 젤다의 전설 브레스 오브 더 와일드가 주요 게임 시상식의 고티(Game of the Year)를 모조리 차지하는 역대급 기록을 세울 뻔 했으나, BAFTA가 이 게임을 고티로 선정하며 그 기록을 막아냈다.[7]

PC PS4[5] 그래서인지 핀치 가의 저주의 정체가 마지막까지 밝혀지지 않는다. 이러한 제작자의 의도는 후반에 이디의 일기장을 돈이 찢어버리는 장면으로 확인된다.[6] 게임의 무대가 되는 Orcas 섬은 시애틀 외곽 퓨젯사운드(퓨젯만)에 실존하는 섬으로, 울창한 침엽수 우림과 겨울 내내 부슬부슬 내리는 비로 유명하다. 게임 초반 주인공이 집으로 걸어가는 숲속 길을 연상케 하는 등산/하이킹 코스가 섬 전체에 퍼져있으며, 제작진이 실제로 제작 시 현장답사를 위해 다녀간 적도 있다고 한다.[7] 이후 GOTY의 석권은 6년이 지난 2023년, 발더스 게이트 3가 달성한다.
