1. 개요

미국의 데스 메탈 밴드 데스의 3집이다.

2. 상세

최초로 가사에 사회 비판적 색채를 더한 데스의 앨범으로 마약 중독, 낙태, 사이비 종교, 연쇄살인범, 유전자 조작, 과학기술의 발전 등등을 다뤘다.

4번 트랙 Within the mind에서는 그나마 긍정적인 에너지가 두드러진다.

일화로 1989년 녹음 당시 5트랙 중간 베이스를 카와이 신디사이저 K1(88년 봄) Electric bass로 연주했다고 한다.~~물론 음악은 전혀 카와이하지 않다.~~
