1. 개요
너바나의 앨범 In Utero의 수록곡. 페니로열은 박하의 한 종류로, 독이 있어 페니로열을 우려낸 차는 과거 유럽에서 낙태용으로 사용되었다.1994년 4월, In Utero의 세번째 싱글로 발매될 예정이었으나 커트 코베인이 자살해서 전량회수해 파기되었다. 예정대로 발매할 수도 있었겠지만 취소된 큰 이유는 B-side 싱글이 I Hate Myself and I Want to Die였기 때문. 독일에서는 회수되기 전에 판매를 시작했기 때문에 당시의 싱글 CD가 남아있다.
이후 2014년에 60000장의 LP를 한정판매했고, 빌보드 싱글차트 1위를 달성했다.
