"트리키" 스튜어트, 제임스 "빅 짐" 라이트[2] 닉 캐넌과의 이혼, 쌍둥이 출산.[3] 사실 2003년에 진행했던 내한 공연에서도 그닥 좋은 평가를 받진 못했었다. 그래도 그나마 서울 공연에서는 성의있게 공연을 하는 모습을 보이긴 했고, 취소됐었던 부산 공연을 다시 내한하면서까지 진행할 땐 꽤나 좋은 모습을 보여 호평을 받았었다.[4] 하지만 2014년 내한공연 때는 전남편과의 소송중에 무너진 감정으로 인해 자주 울부짖었고 심지어 시차적응과 건강 관리 실패로 인한 기관지염과 감기까지 겹쳐서 목소리 자체가 불안했다. 가수 개인사 때문이긴 하지만, 관객들이 그런 뒷사정까진 알 수 없는 문제이기에 당연히 비판받을 만한 부분이긴 하다. 거기다 대중들은 아직까지 머라이어 캐리가 90년대 초중반의 가창력을 유지하고 있을 거라고 생각하고 있었기 때문에 이는 도리어 한국을 무시하기 때문이라는 루머를 만들어내며 국내 이미지까지 격하되는 결과를 초래했다. 본인 공연을 망치고 싶은 가수가 누가 있겠냐마는[5] 다만 젊은 세대들이 압도적으로 많이 사용하는 스트리밍 시대로 넘어가고 있는 시기에 40대 여가수가 차트에 노래를 진입시킨다는 것 자체에 의의를 둬야 할 것이다.[6] 이 팔 부상이 머라이어의 엄청난 피해를 끼쳤다. 이 부상으로 앨범 컨셉과 계획 방향성 모두 동력을 상실해버렸다. 이후 계속 표류하다 뒤늦게 싱글 없이 들을 사람은 들으라는 식으로 발매해버렸다.[커버보기]
