전략게임인 TCG에서 물리적인 상호작용을 하는 카드. 개그세트인 Unset도 아닌 정식 판본에 포함된 카드다. 알파 때부터 있던 카드기 때문에 당시 매직을 처음 가르치는 사람들이 자주 하던 조언 중 하나가 카드를 절대 뭉쳐서 놓지 마세요.

카드는 일종의 기호일 뿐이고 실제로는 카드가 가리키는 대상들의 상호작용을 조율하는 마인드 스포츠를 표방하는 트레이딩 카드 게임에서 물리적인 손 기술을 사용해야 한다는 것부터가 어이없는 일이었지만, 단 3마나로 원하는 지속물을 포함하여 한 개 이상의 지속물을 유형 안 가리고 파괴하는 기능은 카드 자체의 변칙성을 빼고 봐도 상당히 강력했기 때문에, 운이나 운동 능력에 의존하는 경향은 있어도 좀 빠른 덱이면 상대의 대처 수단을 신속하게 걷어내는 용도로 대회에서도 너도나도 쓰는 카드였다. 1994년 8월에 열린 최초의 월드 챔피언십에서, top4에 오른 덱들 중 우승자의 컨트롤 덱을 제외한 세 개의 덱은 모두 Kird Ape를 사용하는 적녹색 기반의 어그로 덱이었는데, 이 덱들은 예외없이 이 카드를 메인 덱에 사용하였으며, 우승자의 컨트롤 덱도 사이드에 넣어서 썼었다. 월드 챔피언십 기준으로 그 달 초에 (이후 빈티지라고 부르게 되는 포맷 기준으로) 이미 아래의 Falling Star와 함께 제한 조치를 받은 상태였고, 10월에는 아예 메카니즘 자체를 게임에서 제거하게 되면서 금지 처분을 받았다.

현대의 TCG에서 물리적인 카드는 미니어처 게임의 미니어처가 그러하듯 실제로 플레이어가 조작하는 대상을 가리키는 일종의 심볼에 불과한데, 이 카드의 존재는 그런 전제에 근본적으로 대치된다. 당시 기준으로도 매우 이질적이었던 Chaos Orb와 같은 메카니즘은 이후의 매직에서는 더이상 지원되지 않는다. 그 어떤 파워 카드도 한 장은 넣어서 사용할 수 있는 빈티지에서조차 금지. 앤티 관련 카드가 아닌데도 불구하고 모든 공식 대회(빈티지 포함)에서 금지먹은 카드 중 하나다.

스토리상으로는 검은 연꽃 관련 스토리의 주인공인 자레드 카르탈리온의 숙적 라비델이 사용한 아티팩트라고 한다.

초창기 매직을 그대로 지원하는 것을 컨셉으로 하는 캐주얼 포맷인 올드스쿨[1]에서는 사용할 수 있는데, "토큰이 아닌 지속물을 목표로 정하여 활성화, 카드를 던져 그 지속물에 닿은 경우에 둘을 파괴한다"로 약간의 에라타가 적용되어 있다. 여전히 약간의 변수를 제하면 3마나로 지속물 하나 파괴라는 상당한 고성능.

비슷한 시기에 등장한 Falling Down 역시 이 카드처럼 공중에서 떨어뜨리고 닿은 카드에 영향을 주는 성능을 가졌는데, 이 카드 역시 공식 대회에서 금지 카드가 되었다.

오늘날엔 해당사항이 없지만, 금지 전 해당 카드에 대한 규정 해석은 다음과 같다.
  • 카드가 완전히 뒤집힌다는 것은 360도 회전한 것을 의미한다.
  • 상대는 카드를 던지는 것을 물리적으로 방해해서는 안된다. (선풍기를 튼다거나, 1피트 상공에 그물을 친다거나...)
  • Chaos Orb가 전장에 들어온 순간부터 상대는 전장의 카드 배열을 바꿀 수 없다. 이후 플레이하는 카드를 널찍이 배열하는 것은 가능.
  • Chaos Orb에 닿는 것을 방지하겠다고 일렬로 쌓아두거나, 상대가 볼 수 없는 곳에 배치해서는 안된다.
  • 카드에 슬리브가 씌어진 경우 슬리브 전체를 카드로 판정한다.

2.2. 도시전설

매직의 유명한 도시전설 중 하나로[2] 당시 플레이어 중 하나가 이 카드를 찢어서 잘게 조각내어 사용했다! 비상식적인 행위지만 게임이 그대로 진행됐다고 한다. 찢어서 쓰지 말라고는 어디에도 적혀있지 않았기 때문. 덕분에 상대 필드는 말 그대로 쑥대밭이 되었고 그는 승리했다.

문제는 그 다음으로, 다음 경기에서 당연히 제출한 덱과 현재 덱이 맞지 않게 되어서 실격패를 당하게 된다.[3] 이 카드가 모든 공식 대회에서 금지된 게 이 시기의 일이라고. 물론 쓸 수 있게 된다고 해도 지금 이 카드는 리저브드 리스트에 올라가서 장당 최소 90만원을 호가하는지라, 진짜로 이걸 찢어서 쓸 용자가 몇이나 되겠냐만.

Unglued에서 상술한 도시전설을 셀프 패러디해서 내놓은 카드.

'Confetti(종이조각)'이라는 이름에서 보다시피 대놓고 찢어서 쓰라고 되어 있다. 도시전설 내용대로 조각들 중 어느 것에라도 닿으면 파괴 가능. 대신 본체와 활성화비용이 모두 4마나, 그리고 던져야 하는 거리도 무려 5배나 늘어나서 조작 난이도가 급상승했다. 오라클 텍스트에서 '게임에서 제거'하는 대상이 Chaos Confetti가 아니라 Chaos Confetti를 찢어서 나온 조각들이라는 것도(...) 은근한 개그.

아이작의 번제: 리버스의 혼돈 카드는 이 카드를 모티브로 하는 것으로 보인다. 맞은 적은 잡몹이고 보스고 오브젝트고 뭐고 거의 다 무조건 죽인다는 효과도 그렇고.

건담 시리즈 프랜차이즈의 TCG인 건담워에서는 기동전사 B건담이라는 카드가 골프공을 굴려 닿은 모든 카드를 파괴하는 효과를 가지고 있다.
