평론가 평과 유저 반응이 엇갈리고 있다. 아틀리에 메인 시리즈는 라이자2 이래 꾸준히 80점대 이상을 기록해오고 있었는데, 본작은 70점 중반대로 하락했다. 반면 유저 평가는 높은 편으로, 시리즈 개선으로 인해 점점 퇴색되어 가고 있던 정통파 아틀리에 시리즈의 맛을 잘 살렸다는 평이다. 이러한 분위기는 상반기에 출시된 유미아와는 정반대라는 점이 특징적.[5]

아틀리에 시리즈 최초로 Steam 버전에서 유선 연결 한정으로 듀얼쇼크 4 및 듀얼센스 컨트롤러를 지원한다.

타이틀명이 지금까지의 시리즈와 반대로 이루어져 있다. 기존에 제목으로 사용된 "XX의 아틀리에"가 부제로 내려가고, 부제로 쓰이던 "XX의 연금술사"가 제목으로 올라왔다. 영문판에서는 이런 도치 구조를 되돌리고 기존과 같은 방식의 타이틀명이 사용되었다.

패미통과 4Gamer 등 여러 웹진의 인터뷰에서 호소이 준조 통합 프로듀서는 본작의 넘버링이 어떻게 되냐는 질문에 A25-2라는 감각으로 만들고 있다고 답했다. 패미통 인터뷰에서는 본작이 레스레리의 전이나 후라면 모르겠지만 레스레리 1부와 동일 시점에서 일어나는 스토리이기 때문에 A25에 포함되는 이미지라고 추가 설명했다. 이를 보아 유미아를 잇는 A27에 해당하는 차기작은 따로 개발 중에 있는 듯하다.

게임의 평가와는 별개로 유미아에 비해 개발에 힘이 덜 들어간 것은 맞는 것으로 보이는데, 캐릭터의 각종 모션을 싹 새로 만들어낸 유미아와 달리 이전 시리즈에 사용한 걸 그대로 돌려썼다. 또한 필드 등의 배경에는 확실히 투자를 아껴서 특정 구간은 PS2~PS3 시절 게임으로 보일 정도로 투박한데, 오히려 이 덕분인지 게임 용량이 가볍다는 장점이 생겼다.

마을을 발전 시키는 올스타전이라는 점에서 네르케와 전설의 연금술사들을 떠올리는 팬이 많다. 다만 외전격 작품으로 분류되었던 네르케와 달리 정식 넘버링을 받았으며, 출시 이후에는 플레이어들에게 기존의 정통파 아틀리에의 맛을 잘 살렸다며 좋은 평가를 받고 있다. 마을을 발전 시키는 넘버링 작품으로는 구작 시리즈의 비오라트의 아틀리에가 있지만 한글화 되지 않은 고대 작품이라 아는 사람만 알아 언급이 적은 편이다.

상술한대로 PS4 버전은 일본에서만 출시되었으며 글로벌에서는 PS5 버전만 지원하며 NS의 물리 패키지 버전은 아시아권에서만 출시되었다.
