스노우 브라더스 시리즈의 3번째 작품으로, 1994년 스노우 브라더스 2 이후 30년 만에 나오는 완전 신작.

닉의 아들이자 톰의 조카인 주니어들이 다시금 야망을 이루고 아이스랜드에 복수하기 위해 윈다 공주를 납치한 아치치 대왕을 막으려는 내용으로 보인다.

전작들과는 다르게 풀 CG이며 횡스크롤 방식에서 탈피했다.

광고의 내레이션 담당은 후쿠하라 아야카로 추정. 그 외 본편에선 하시 아후미(주인공 닉 주니어 역), 노구치 유리(톰 주니어 역), 후지이 유키요(윈다 공주 역), 츠루오카 사토시(아치치 대왕 역) 등이 캐스팅되었다.

최대 4인까지의 멀티플레이를 지원한다.

영어/일본어/스페인어(유럽식/남미식)/한국어 음성을 지원한다.

이후 신규 트레일러에서 공개된 보스들 역시 1편의 보스들을 리메이크 및 오마주했음을 알 수 있다.

많은 게이머들의 예상대로 흥행에는 참패했다. 그럼에도 메타크리틱 점수는 70점(닌텐도 스위치 버전 기준), 오픈크리틱 점수는 76점으로 나름대로 준수한 평을 받았다.

한국어 더빙에 대해서는 호불호가 심하게 갈리는데, 한국어 더빙이 마치 외국인이 어거지로 한국말을 한 느낌이 들 정도로 그 퀄리티가 심히 떨어진다는 평가가 대다수다.[1] 한마디로 해당 게임의 한국어 더빙은 결국 없느니만 못하다는 소리다. 이 따위로 성의없이 더빙할 바엔 차라리 일본어 음성/한국어 자막 형태로 한국 시장에 내놓는 게 좋았을 것이다.

[1] 한국어 음성 지원이 이 지경이 된 데에는, 개발사가 한국 성우들을 기용할 의지도 물적 자원도 없었기 때문으로 추정된다.
