3. 여담

• 매튜 벨라미도 앨범에서 가장 자랑스러워 하는 곡이라 했으며 콜드플레이의 보컬인 크리스 마틴은 뮤즈 최고의 곡이라고 극찬했다.[2] 곡 분위기는 기존의 뮤즈 노래들과 비교해 상당히 이질적이나 퀄리티에는 이견이 없는 수준.

• 하지만 War Child 콘서트 때 어떤 관객이 Madness를 연주하려고 하자 "Madness is SHIT!"이라고 외치는 일이 생기도 했다.[3] 매튜는 "ha! We'll play that one for you, then"(허 참! 그럼 당신께 한번 연주해드리지요!) 라고 받아치고 웃으며 넘어갈 줄 알았지만 그 날 열 뻗쳐서 미러맨슨 기타를 박살낸다. 유투브 댓글에서도 하루가 멀다 하고 똑같은 병림픽이 계속 일어나는 등 말많고 탈많은 점에서도 앨범을 대표하는 리드 싱글의 역할을 충실히 수행하고 있다 (...)

• 노래 자체는 Queen의 I Want to Break Free에서 영향을 받았으며#1#2 약간 개인적인 곡, 매튜의 전 여자친구와 관련된 노래라고 한다.

• 뮤직비디오에선 크리스 볼첸홈이 Misa의 Kitara라는 아이패드 기타 전자기타를 연주하는 모습이 나오는데, 라이브에선 아예 헤드리스 베이스 기타와 합쳐서 더블넥 기타로 만들어 사용한다.

• 라이브에서는 Starlight와 마찬가지로 반 키를 낮춰부른다.
