1. 개요

Outstanding Drama Series

우수한 드라마 시리즈 방송들을 대상으로 한 프라임타임 에미상의 한 부문. 에미 시상식에서 받을 수 있는 최고의 상이며, 시상식 가장 마지막에 발표한다.

OTT 오리지널 시리즈 최초의 에미상 작품상 수상이 바로 이 부문에서 나왔다. 2017년 Hulu의 핸드메이즈 테일 시즌1이 수상했다.[1]

[1] 첫 에미상 작품상 수상을 놓고 넷플릭스와 프라임 비디오가 치열하게 경쟁하는 중이었는데, 난데없이 Hulu가 수상해 재미있는 상황이 되었다.[2] 1957년 제9회 시상식에서는 코미디나 드라마, 버라이어티 등의 장르를 구분하지 않고 "최우수 시리즈"로 뭉뚱그려서 상을 수여했다.[3] 1965년 제17회 시상식에서는 각 부문들이 대폭 간소화되었고 코미디를 비롯해 드라마, 버라이어티 등의 작품들은 장르를 구분하지 않고 뭉뚱그려서 상을 수여했다.
