2003년 발표된 라디오헤드의 6집 Hail to the Thief의 2번째 트랙. 부제는 'Snakes & Ladders.'

2. 상세

곡의 구상은 1998년 OK Computer 투어 당시부터 이루어졌다고 하는데, 당시 촬영된 다큐멘터리 'Meeting People Is Easy'에서 톰이 인터뷰 도중 QY70 시퀀서로 이 곡의 것과 유사한 멜로디 라인을 연주한다. # 톰은 Hail to the Thief 인터뷰에서 가사가 TV에 나온 르완다에서의 사건을 보고 영감을 받은 것이라 했는데, 시간상 1998년 8월에 발발한 제2차 콩고 전쟁을 두고 한 말일 가능성이 높다.[1]

약 3분간 계속해서 악기가 쌓여 가면서 긴장감이 최고조에 달할 때쯤 갑작스럽게 정신없는 비트와 'The raindrops'라는 가사가 무려 47회 반복되며 끝나는, 라디오헤드 기준으로도 상당히 특이한 구성의 곡이라 할 만하다. 이 가사가 무엇을 의미하는지는 멤버 본인들을 포함해 아무도 모른다고.
