1. 개요
프린스의 8집 앨범 Parade의 11번째 트랙이자 3번째 싱글.2. 상세
프린스가 거의 모든 부분을 맡고 주도했으며, 백킹 보컬은 수산나 멜로빈, 익스텐디드 버전의 호른 파트는 에릭 리드와 애틀랜타 블리스가 맡았다.가사는 한 남자가 자신을 두고 다른 사람을 만나려는 여자를 다시 되찾으려는 내용이며, 곡의 제목은 가사 내용과 'U need another lover, like you need a hole in your head'라는 코러스 가사와 합한 것이다.
관용적 표현인 Need something like you need a hole in your head(대가리에 구멍이 필요한 것처럼 무언가 필요하다)은 아예 필요없다는 의미를 꼬아서 말한 것이다. 그렇기에 제목은 '넌 다른 애인이 아예 필요없다'라는 뜻으로 해석할 수 있다.
또한 2절에서 백보컬이 보컬의 가사를 되뇌이는 것이 아닌 다음에 올 가사를 미리 부르는데, 이는 당시에 전례가 없던 시도였다.
