2. 줄거리
어느 날 갑자기 이계에 떨어진 평범한 직장인 민석은 자살한 로엔 왕국의 역사학도 ‘클레인 모레티’의 몸에 빙의한다.
근세 유럽과 닮은 이계에는 마법과 신비학의 힘을 이용해 이능을 손에 넣은 ‘초월자’들이 존재했다.
이후 민석은 자신보다 먼저 이계에 도착해 황제의 자리에 오른 ‘로셀 대제’가 남긴 단서를 이용해 ‘점술가’가 되는데…….
과연 그는 ‘점술가’의 능력을 활용해 더욱 강한 초월자가 되어 자신이 살던 세계로 돌아갈 수 있을까?

중국 웹소설 사이트 기점중문망(치디엔/QiDian/起点)에서 2018년 4월 1일부터 연재를 시작해서 2020년 5월 1일에 완결되었다.이후 한국에 수입되어 카카오페이지에 2020년 2월 1일 한국어 번역본이 연재 시작되었고 2023년 1월 4일 완결되었다.
네이버 시리즈에 2020년 2월 21일 연재본이 발매되었다.

학사신공, 폐후의 귀환과 함께 중국 수입 웹소설 중에서 드물게 한국에서도 높은 인기와 좋은 평가를 받고 있는 작품이다.
가장 높은 평가를 받는 부분은 세계관 설정. 선협물-크툴루-스팀펑크라는 세 가지 장르를 적절히 잘 섞었다. 선협소설에서 보이는 영약을 통한 경지의 상승을 세피로트의 나무와 엮으면서 스팀펑크의 분위기와 어우러지게 하고, 우주적 존재로 묘사되는 고위 선인들을 크툴루의 신들에 매치시켰다. 이 세 장르를 뚜렷하게 드러낸 것은 아니지만, 같은 계열 작품들을 찾는 독자들을 세 갈래씩이나 유입시키는 셈.
디테일에 지나치게 집착하는 바람에 초반 부분의 필력은 좋지 않은 편인데, 특히 1권 파트에서 전개를 빠르게 해야될 부분과 느리게 해야될 부분을 구분 못하는 점이 두드러진다. 뒤로 갈수록 이런 단점들을 커버할 정도로 뛰어난 플롯과 반전, 복선 회수 등이 두드러지고 이후 초반을 넘어서 초중반~후반까지 매력있는 등장인물과 짜임새있는 전개로 매우 훌륭한 모습을 보여주지만, 극후반에 가서는 최종보스급 인물의 밸런스 실패, 급전개의 연발로 주요인물의 허무한 소비 등이 누적되면서 결말의 평가는 굉장히 안 좋은 편이다.
한편 지나친 번역체 때문에 읽기 힘든 편이다. 특히 초반부 300화까지 그런 면이 두드러지는데 그 후로는 익숙해져서 그럭저럭 읽히는 정도. 또한 대사를 통으로 날려서 정보를 누락하는 경우가 한두 번이 아니다.

9. 기타
- 중국 특유의 농담이나 문화가 가끔씩 묘사되는 작품이다보니 이해도를 돕기 위해서인지 현지화 전략을 취하고 있는 작품인데, 이 때문에 한국이 또 문화를 도둑질해간다며 중국에서 논란이 되었다. 우리도 어릴 때 한국 애니를 중국 현지화한 적 있었다는 온건한 의견도 있지만, 대부분 중국인은 한국인이 될 수 없다며 비난적인 의견을 취하고 있다. 중국 내 논란과 별개로 한국 독자들에게도 묘사 수정 자체는 이해하지만, 국적이나 지역명 수정은 어색해서 이해가 안 간다는 의견이 존재한다.
