데이비드 번이 연출한 동명의 영화 트루 스토리스에 삽입된 노래들로만 앨범이 채워져 있으며[1], 영화 개봉보다 이른 시기에 발매되었다.리드 싱글 Wild Wild Life가 준수한 상업적 성공을 거두었지만, 토킹 헤즈 특유의 날카로움이 사라지고 평범해졌다며 비평가들에게 혹평을 받았다.
