적색판 어둠의 의식이라고 할 수 있는 카드. 마나가 2R이나 필요한 점 때문에 어둠의 의식보다는 못하지만[1], 어쨋든 순간마법으로 마나를 +2 시켜준다는 것은 매력적인 능력이다. 익스텐디드에서 9판을 쓸 수 있었을 때 Demigod of Revenge를 이용한 데미갓 스톰피 덱에서 마나뻥을 한다던가, 정신의 욕망이라든가 Dragonstorm을 쓰는 스톰 콤보 덱에서도 필수카드. 익스텐디드가 없어지고 모던 포맷이 등장한 이후에 스톰 덱의 핵심 마나뻥 주문 중 하나로 활약했다.

Return to Ravnica 블록에서 고블린 전기술사와 위대한 실험이 나온 이후로 스톰 덱의 파워가 매우 강력해졌으며, 안정적으로 3~4턴 킬을 하는 경우도 있었기 때문에 모던 스톰 덱을 약화시키기 위해 2013년 2월 부로 모던에서 금지됐다.

[1] 마나뻥 주문은 얼마나 싸고 많은 양의 마나가 뻥튀기되냐가 핵심이다. 어둠의 의식이나 이거나 결과적으로 마나+2가 되는 건 같지만 1마나짜리인 어둠의 의식이 고평가받는 이유.
