존 레논이 작곡한 곡으로 평소 50년대 걸그룹의 두왑 장르의 팬이었던 레논이 그와 비슷한 곡조로 만든 곡이다. 가사는 당시 레논의 아내였던 신시아가 그의 외도를 목격하고 부부싸움을 벌였을 때 그녀가 레논에게 했던 말을 바탕으로 만들었다고 한다.

다른 해석도 있다. 자식을 떠난 부모에 대한 노래이며, 어릴 적 부모와 이별을 겪은 존 레논이 해당 노래에 낙관적으로 풀어낸 것. 비록 레논은 이 곡은 일회성으로 치부했지만, 폴은 후에 괜찮은 곡이라고 평가했다.
