1. 개요

스타크래프트 2 유즈맵이다. 롤을 모티브로 한 AOS 게임으로 앞서 롤과 히오스를 플레이해 봤다면 몹시 친숙하게 느껴질 영웅들이 많으며, 각 게임에서 따온 컨셉과 스킬을 특색 있게 조합해 익숙하지만 색다른 맛이 느껴지는 고유 영웅들과 맵의 이름처럼 스피디한 빠른 템포에서 오는 잦은 교전과 통쾌한 한타가 특징. 여느 AOS 게임들과 마찬가지로 적의 본진인 넥서스를 파괴하는 것이 게임의 최종 목표다. 롤이 모티브라 그런지 역전이 불가능하다 싶을 정도로 망하거나 격차가 벌어져 있으면 서렌이 가능한 시간대인 12분에 서렌 투표가 올라오는 경우가 곧잘 나온다.

핫샷 공식 사이트가 생긴 후엔 맵의 제작자인 맥톰의 활동 유무~~지갑 사정~~에 따라 사이트가 죽었다 살아났다를 반복하고 있으며, 2025년 2월을 기준으로 제작자가 복귀함에 따라 오랜만에 공식 사이트가 다시 부활하였다.

2. 게임 내 정보

2.1. 시스템

-핫샷은 대다수 AOS 게임들이 사용하는 복잡하고 가짓수가 많은 아이템 방식과는 달리 이를 간결하게 줄여 아이템 역할을 하지만 최대 1개만 고를 수 있는 6종류의 인장과 영웅이 사망하기 전까지만 반영구적으로 적용되는 2종류의 영약, 체력/마나 회복 물약, 감시탑(와드), 매의 눈(5분간 디텍터 효과)과 같은 일부 소모성 아이템들을 제외하면 실시간으로 적용되는 간편한 스텟 증가 방식을 사용하여 타 AOS 게임들과 비교하면 신규 유저들의 입문 난이도가 상대적으로 낮은 편이다.

-최대 4:4, 8명으로 진행하는 게임인 만큼 주요 라인은 상단(탑)과 하단(바텀) 두 가지만 존재하며, 맵 중앙의 정글과 각 사이드에 롤의 바론, 용의 역할을 하는 주요 오브젝트인 포자 촉수(12시, 팀 단위 미네랄과 바론과 비슷한 버프 제공), 가시 촉수(6시, 팀 단위 미네랄만 지급)가 존재한다.

-라인별 포지션은 다음과 같다.
탑 : 상단에 있는 라인을 의미하며, 주로 원딜(바텀)이 아닌 영웅들(마법사, 암살자, 탱커 역할군)이 담당한다.
정글: 단독으로 라인에 서긴 어렵지만 성장 기대치가 좋거나 정글 몬스터를 사냥하는데 특화된 영웅들이 주로 선택 된다. 단, 포커스 샷 스펠을 들지 않으면 정글 몬스터 사냥 경험치를 50% 밖에 얻지 못하니 주의.
바텀 : 하단에 있는 라인을 의미하며, 단독으로 라인에 서는 탑과는 달리 아래의 서포터와 함께 듀오로 라인에 가기에 그만큼 서포터와의 합이 중요한 포지션이다. 주로 원거리 평타 딜링이 가능한 화력 담당 캐리형 영웅들이 포진해 있다.
서포터 : 서포터란 이름 답게 자체 체급은 낮지만 아군 지원형 스킬들로 무장한 영웅들이 속해 있으며, 바텀 원딜에게 성장 자원을 몰아주고 시야 장악 및 교전을 통한 어시스트가 주 수입원인 역할군인 만큼 첫 시작에 어시스트 달성 시 50% 추가 보너스와 감시탑 20원 할인, 최대 2개까지 감시탑을 설치할 수 있는 마수의 인장을 구입하는 것이 추천 된다.

2.2. 영웅

-해당 항목은 갱신된 지 오래된 구버전의 내용이기에 공식 사이트나 공식 커뮤니티 등에서 별도의 공략을 찾아보는 것을 추천한다.

핫샷은 서포터가 안 좋은 캐가 없는 게 특징 (공격회피율 성능이 좋아서 그런 듯)
2022 대규모 업데이트 이후 탑 영향력이 이전보다는 줄어든 듯하다.

1. 벤더존: 원딜
선마순서: q-w-e
스탯: ad / 공속 / 치명타율 / 공흡 / 체력 5~6 / 물마방 조금씩 / 대감3

지속딜 우수 + 궁의 긴 사거리를 이용해 적들의 앞 라인부터 차례차례 녹여나가자. 도주기가 전무하니 물리지 않도록 주의.
궁쿨이 은근 짧아 3대감 후 소규모 교전+타워링에 사용하자.

2. 블레인 : 정글, 탑
선마순서 : e-q-w
스탯: ad - 공속2~3 / 체력 / 물마방 / 회피율 / 용암의 파츠

예전엔 구진캐였지만 유저들이 징징대면서 버프먹은 이후로 제값은 하는 캐릭터이다.
공격력 5만 찍어도 qwer원콤으로 어지간한 딜러는 삭제할 수 있다.
어느 뚜벅이 브루저가 그렇든 cc에 취약한 것이 단점

3. 메텔
선마순서 : q-w-e or q-e-w
스탯: ap 10 (상대봐가면서 그 이상도 가능) / 체력 / 대감3 / 물마방 / 마장

왜 w가 e보다 빠르냐면 w에 침묵이 있다.
그냥 쉬운캐이다. 하지만 고수와 하수의 기준이 있다. (응 걍 쉬운캐임)
고수-적절한 타이밍에 광역힐 적극적인 딜교선호, 다른 곳보면서 궁써주기, 가장 중요한 것으로 중요한순간에 침묵넣기
하수-포탑에 박혀 힐만둔다.Q를 적에겐 써도 W를 적에겐 잘안쓴다.~~써도 딜용으로막쓰지 침묵용으론 안 쓴다.~~
꿀팁으로는 탑 상황을 자주보면서 맞다이 치는 아군이 있으면 적극적으로 궁을 써주자
다만 탱커가 op인 핫샷 서폿에서는 웬만하면 딴거하는 거 추천한다.

4. 레이나드
선마순서: q-e-w or q-w-e
스탯: ad / 공속 / 치명 / 체력물마방 조금씩 / 공흡

이미지는 구리지만 잘만 쓰면 이보다 좋은 스노우볼픽이 없다.
w에 딜증가가 추가된 미친 패치 이후 웬만한 원딜은 라인전부터 털어먹을 수 있다.

5. 엑솔러스
선마순서: q-e-W
스탯: ad / 공속 / 치명 / 체력물마방 조금씩 / 공흡

Q선마 이유 Q패시브가 기본공격력증가

초반 추천스텟은 공격력이랑 치명타이다. 초반엔 2-3공속이면 충분하다.
공속은 중반이상가서 많이찍자.
상대방이랑 거리가 가깝다면 e써서 가지 말고 w써서 걸어가서 때리도록하자. 점멸이나 도주기쓰면 그때 e를쓰고
~~구리니까 걍 하지 말자~~

2.3. 정글 몬스터

정글 몬스터로는 야생 들개, 미친 조류, 설충 등의 일반 중립 몬스터가 있으며, 버프 중립 몬스터(전갈, 갈릭), 신규 중립 몬스터 (전령?), 보스 중립 몬스터(거대 가시촉수, 거대 포자촉수)가 있다.
신규 중립몹인 전령 영향력이 극대화되어 주도권 픽이 더 중요해졌다.

2.4. 평캔

핫샷의 평타캔슬은 매우 쉽다.
평타나가자마자 평타강화 스킬을 쓰면된다. (고반q,네테로q등)

2.5. 흡블

흡수 블링크라고 해서 타겟팅 스킬을 맞기 직전 점멸을 사용해 스킬 데미지를 무효화하는 것을 말한다.
자언궁을 피한 건 흡블로 보기 어렵지만 데켄궁은 흡블이다.

2.6. 공방 짱깨 사건

한때 한자 아이디로 된 유저가 공방을 휩쓸었었다. 멋진 플레이로 사람들의 주목을 끈 그는 핫샷 카페 게시글에 종종 언급되곤 했다.
한국인이라는 추측이 있다.

2.7. 클랜

핫샷 클랜으로는 혈맹, Nclear, 암살, 수학자, Braxis 등이 있다. 시티 오브 템페스트의 클랜들처럼 이 클랜들 또한 친목질과 비매너로 문제가 많았지만 핫샷이 망한 이후로 제대로 활성화된 클랜은 없다.

2.8. 뉴비 배척

그 뉴비 배척 심하다는 시티 오브 템페스트 이상으로 뉴비배척이 엄청 심했었던 맵으로, 팀에 뉴비가 있으면 그냥 "아 졌네~","할 줄도 모르는 놈이 있어서 게임할 맛이 안난다"같은 볼멘소리를 하며 그냥 탈주하거나, 어차피 졌다며 게임을 던지거나 진지하게 하지 않는 악질 유저들이 많았다. 반대로 뉴비가 적이라면 팀에 뉴비가 있다고 대충하거나 할 맛 안난다고 빈정거릴 땐 언제고, 뉴비 상대로 열정적으로 전력을 다하여 살아있는 시간보다 죽어있는 시간이 더 길 정도로 끈질기게 괴롭히며 양학을 했다. 가장 악질인 건 자기가 모르는 사람이다 싶으면 무조건 관전 밖에 못하는 3팀으로 넣어버리고 조종할 수 있는 유닛이 없어 어리둥절하는 뉴비들을 보고 낄낄대는 그야말로 싸이코패스같은 유저들이었는데, 차라리 강퇴 당하는 게 양반인 이런 악랄한 뉴비배척이 숨 쉬듯 일어났었다.[1] 덕분에 맵은 유입이 끊히고 저런 악성 유저들만 남은 쓰레기장이 되었고, 남은 악성 유저들끼리 친목질 파벌을 만들며 서로 치고박고 싸우는 아수라장이 되면서 맵은 그야말로 황폐화됐다. 뒤늦게 정신을 차린 남은 유저들이 그제서야 이런 악질 행위를 자제하자는 말을 꺼냈지만~~물론 말만 꺼냈지 행동으로 옮기진 않았다~~ 이미 맵의 수명은 끝난 뒤였다.

2.9. 핫샷의 현재

맵 제작자인 MaxStorm의 취업 이후 패치가 더뎌지고 있다. 2016년 이후엔 아예 패치가 끊혔고 2019년엔 유일한 공식 사이트였던 카페가 팔리는 게 기정사실화 되면서 사실상 죽은 맵이 되었으나 무슨 바람이 불었는지 2025년 2월 제작자의 복귀와 함께 공식 사이트까지 부활하며 근소하게나마 명맥을 이어가고 있는 중이다.

경쟁맵이었던 시티 오브 템페스트와 줄곧 비교되곤했다. 일단 제작자부터가 같은 사람이고, 몰락한 과정도 비슷하며, 둘 다 과거의 영광은 찾아볼 수 없을 정도로 비참해진 말로를 보내고 있다.[2]

이 역시 25년 2월에 제작자가 복귀하며 패치를 이어나감에 따라 옛말이 되었다.

[1] 숨 쉬듯이 일어났다는 건 절대 과장이 아니다. 그 당시 대기실에 들어가면 거의 항상 3팀으로 쫓겨나있는 유저들을 볼 수 있었다. 트롤러여서 3팀으로 쫓아낸거 아니냐고 하기엔, 트롤러는 게임 플레이 경험이 있으므로 3팀이 어떤 자리인지 알기 때문에 그냥 나가거나 재입장을 하는 등 3팀을 벗어나려 하므로, 3팀에 가만히 있는 유저는 잠수 중에 방장한테 3팀으로 쫓겨난 유저가 아닌 이상 십중팔구가 영문도 모르고 3팀으로 쫓겨난 뉴비였다.[2] 시티 또한 공방은 돌아가지 않고 카페는 팔렸으며 제작자는 맵을 버렸고 마지막까지 남은 고인물들이 가끔씩 비방을 돌리는 것으로 순위권에 얼굴을 내밀고 있다. 그나마 시티가 핫샷보다 희망적인 것은 다른 맵퍼가 맵을 이어받아 새로 카페를 만들고 패치를 지속 중인 것이다
