2008년 발매된 드래곤포스의 4집 앨범 Ultra Beatdown의 오프닝 트랙이자 첫 싱글곡으로 나온 이 곡은 2008년 7월 4일 오피셜 MySpace페이지에서 웹스트리밍으로 첫 공개 되었으며 2008년 7월 8일에 온라인으로 4분 57초의 짧은 버전으로 뮤직비디오가 공개되었다. 이후 2008년 7월 15일 iTunes로 다운로드 판매를 시작, 2008년 8월 21일 Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock의 다운로드곡으로 나왔고 2008년 12월 3일, "Heroes of Our Time"는 Grammy Award에서 "Best Metal Performance"에 노미네이트 되었다.[1]
여담이지만 유튜브에 어떤 업로더가가 DragonForce - Heroes of Our Time (HD Official Video)라면서 영상을 하나 업로드 했는데, 막상 그 영상에서 나온 음악은 5집 앨범 Power Within의 Seasons 였다. 그것도 공식 영상도 아닌 2013년 다운로드 페스티벌에서 라이브 공연 영상이었다(.....) 문제의 영상[2]
