1. 개요
42번 국도 쿠마노-오와세 도로(E42)의 나들목(8번)이다. 나들목 명칭은 정명 카타초(賀田町)에서 유래하였다.오와세시 남부의 카타초 지구는 일대 만 지역 대부분이 해수욕장이 발달한 것과는 달리 해수욕장은 없지만 어항이 들어서있는 동네로 수산물 수송 및 재해 대비 관점에서 나들목이 개설되었다.
평면 Y자형 나들목으로, 상행선[1] 진출입로가 평면교차한다. 단, 개통 시에는 공사가 다 끝나지 못한 관계로 오와세 방향 편방향 부분만 개통되었으며, 2014년 3월 30일 쿠마노 방향 부분이 개통되면서 비로소 완성되었다. 외부 접속부는 평면교차로(삼거리)로 70번 미에현도와 교차 접속한다.
