'SMG4: The Japan Trip' 편에서 첫 출연한 SMG4 오리지널 캐릭터.

아홀로틀의 모습을 한 만화 작가. 그린 캐릭터를 실체화시키는 '잉크 위버'라는 마법의 펜을 가지고 있다. 가끔씩 남들의 이름을 말하는 대신, 그 캐릭터의 외관적인 특징으로 상대방을 지칭하곤 한다. 예를 들어, 마리오는 '토마토 맨'(Tomato Man) 혹은 '빨간 토마토(Red Tomato)', 붑킨은 '초록 개구리'(Green Frog), 메기는 '비니 쓴 물고기 아가씨'(Beanie Fish Girl)[4][5], 데스티는 '촉수 물고기 아가씨'(Emo Fish Girl)라고 부른다.

상당한 대인배인데 잉코폴리스에서 잉클링들이 자기를 혐오하고 왕따를 했지만 앙심을 품거나 복수할 생각을 전혀 가지고 있지 않았다. 오히려 그들과 비슷한 종족인 메기와 데스티를 도와주고 데스티의 조언을 듣고 메기를 살리기 위해 스스로 몸을 내던지기까지 했다.[6]

메타 러너 시즌 1의 에피소드 1인 Wrong Warp 편에서 어떤 한 남자의 모션 인식 카메오 캐릭터로 짤막하게 나온다.

2. 작중 행적

2.1. The Anime Arc

'SMG4: The Japan Trip' 편에서 SMG4 일행을 만나 버섯 왕국에 A.S.S.라는 비밀 단체가 애니메를 단속하고 있다는 소식을 사이코로부터 듣게 되고 A.S.S.에게 대항하기로 하여금 SMG4 일행에 합류한다.

'SMG4: The Mario Showdown' 편에서 데스티한테서 빼앗긴 메기 일행의 무기들을 되찾는 것을 도와주었다. 무기를 되찾고 버섯 왕국으로 돌아가던 중, SMG4가 왜 잉코폴리스를 바라보고 있느냐고 엑솔에게 묻자 자신이 잉코폴리스에서 태어났다고 답한다. 'SMG4: Mario Saves Anime' 편에서 스스로 밝힌 바에 의하면, 잉코폴리스에서 거주하던 어린 시절부터 일본 만화를 좋아했으나 잉클링들은 종특으로 일본 만화를 혐오해서 자신을 따돌렸고 결국 견디다 못해 잉코폴리스를 떠나 일본으로 가서 잉크 위버를 직접 제작하고 만화가가 된 것이었다.

'SMG4: Mario Saves Anime' 편에서 마리오, 붑킨과 함께 피치 공주의 마음을 바꿔 애니메 금지령을 해제시킨다.

애니메 금지령도 끝났으니 액솔은 의무가 끝나서 일본으로 돌아가려 한다. 그런데 'SMG4: The Splatfest Incident' 편에서 메기가 행방불명이 되고 SMG4 일행이 그녀의 집을 찾아가 방을 둘러보다 애니메 DVD가 떨어져 있었기에[7] 정황상 엑솔이 SMG4: The Anime Arc 시리즈의 진 최종 보스에 유력한 후보로 보였으나[8] SMG4: The Inkling Disappearances 편에서 오히려 액솔도 메기와 함께 납치된 상태로 나왔으며 심지어 잉크 위버는 다른 제 3자가 훔쳐가 이용하는 듯한 연출 때문에 진 최종 보스 후보에서 탈락되었다.[9][10]

SMG4: Mario And The Experiment 편에서 이 사건의 원흉이 액솔이 아닌, 카멜레니아임이 드러난다.

SMG4: Final hours 편에서는 카멜레니아가 만든 오공에 대항하기 위하여 메기의 희생으로 얻은 잉크로 섀기를 만들어 오공과 맞붙게 하였고 오공이 전투에서 계속 밀려 자폭을 강행하자 주변인들과 잉클링들을 섀기로 구출하게 하고 마지막으로 인간화된 메기도 구출하는데 성공하였다. 이후 데스티의 장례식에서 메기한테 위로의 말과 격려를 해주었다.

2.2. The Youtube Arc

SMG4: The Internet Graveyard 편에서는 인터넷 공동묘지에 5년간 갇혀 정신줄을 놓아버린 상태로 등장한다. 하지만 마리오의 나루토 포즈를 보고 일본 애니를 떠올리고는 본래대로 돌아온다. 액솔은 이 에피소드의 시점으로부터 3주 전의 에피소드인 SMG4: Mario Gets W O K E 편에서 마리오가 유튜브 리모컨에서 OOF 밈이 그려진 버튼을 누르자 나타난 유튜브 버튼에게 잡혀 인터넷 공동묘지로 전송되었었다.

2.3. Genesis Arc

유튜브 아크가 끝난 지금 시점에서도 SMG4: The Internet Graveyard 편에서 부러져버린 잉크 위버와 눈 한쪽의 긁힌 상처는 여전하다. 그런데 잉크 위버는 고칠 생각이 아직 없는지 부러진 채로 있었으나 If Mario was in... Anime 편에서 고쳤다.[11] 그리고 Genesis Arc에서는...

Youtube Arc 시리즈에서 부러진 후 펜촉이 빠지는 바람에 호신용 무기로 간간히 쓰이다가 지금은 수리되었다.[3] Anime Arc 시리즈에서 SMG4 일행을 만난 뒤로 버섯 왕국에 정착해 생활하게 된다.[4] Final Hours에서 메기가 인간화되고 나서는 '비니 쓴 인간 아가씨'(Beanie Human Girl)라고 부른다.[5] 타 에피소드에는 두목같은 물고기 아가씨라고(bossy fish girl)이라고 한번 말한 적이 있다.[6] 초반에는 이런 과거사 때문에 메기와 잉클링들을 납치해서 잉크 위버의 파워를 더 올리려는 빌런으로 추정되었으나 오히러 그것을 막는 모습으로 나왔다.[7] 이는 범인이 애니메를 좋아하는 것임을 설명.[8] 액솔은 잉크를 이용해 캐릭터를 실사화시킬 수 있지만 일반 잉크로 그린 캐릭터는 수명이 매우 짧고 어딘가 나사빠진 상태로 나온다. 하지만 잉클링의 잉크를 쓰면 그런 점 없이 완벽한 상태의 애니메를 실사화시킬 수 있고 실제로 메기가 직접 추출해준 잉크를 이용해서 애니메 금지령을 성공적으로 해제시키는 모습을 보여주었다. 이 설정과 액솔의 과거사(잉클링들의 집단괴롭힘)를 통해 잉클링의 잉크를 더 얻어 잉크 위버를 최대의 위력으로 사용함과 동시에 어린 시절의 복수를 위해 잉클링들을 대량으로 납치했다는 추론을 할 수 있다.[9] 이는 복선이 있었다. 왜냐하면 애니메를 좋아하는 이가 소수치곤 많기도 하고 뭔가 너무 대놓고 액솔의 소행이라고 추측이 가능하기에 이 점을 노린 듯 하다. 게다가 SMG4: Mario Saves Anime 편에서는 망치를 든 사이코에게 폭력은 애니를 금지시킨 원흉이라며 무력으로 상대하는 작전에 반대했다.[10] 다만 SMG4의 말에 따르면, 사실 원래는 액솔이 애니메 아크의 메인 빌런이 맞았다고 한다. 원래 스토리는 액솔이 애니메 금지령을 없앤 후 자신의 애니메 군단으로 세상을 장악하려 한다는 설정이었으나, 액솔에게는 그럴만한 동기가 없었기 때문에 설정이 바뀐것이라고 한다.[11] 사실 작중에서 잉크 위버의 능력이 너무 강력하다는 것을 생각해 보면, 차후 STORY ARCS 시리즈를 연개할 때 엑솔의 활약으로 스토리가 단숨에 끝날 가능성을 피하기 위해 의도적으로 너프한 것이라고 볼 수 있다. 이를 타파하기 위해 The Anime Arc 2부에서는 잉크 위버가 다른 이의 손에 넘어간 것으로 이야기가 전개되었고, Youtube Arc에서는 잉크 위버가 부러지는 것으로 액솔이 스토리에 개입하는 상황을 피했다.[12] 다만 이렇게 된건 SMG4의 책임도 있다. 갑자기 슈렉 때가 몰려오게 만든 인물이 누군지 확인도 안하고 액솔로 판단한 것 자체가 원인이었던 것. 결국 SMG4 본의 아니게 액솔이 SMG0에게 빙의되어 버리게 만들어버린 큰 실수를 했다고 할 수 있겠다.[13] 그렇게 현재 액솔의 잉크 위버는 멜로니의 소유가 되었다.
