1. 개요

미국의 록 밴드.

미국 밴드임에도 이름을 영국 철자(neighbourhood)로 쓴 것은 미국 철자(neighborhood)로 쓰는 다른 밴드와 구분하기 위해서이다.
'Female Robbery'로 데뷔했고, 두번째 싱글인 'Sweater Weather'이 대히트하면서 데뷔와 동시에 유명해졌다.

어둡고 우울한 음악세계로 힙스터들에게 추앙받는다.
The Neighbourhood의 히트곡 Sweater Weather
Sweater Weather는 빌보드 HOT100 14위에 유튜브 6억 뷰를 넘긴 메가히트곡. 다른 곡들도 인기를 얻기는 했으나 빌보드 HOT100에 진입하지는 못했다.

4. 음악적 성향

대체로 흑백인 앨범커버들과 뮤직비디오들을 보면 알 수 있다시피 잿빛의 음악을 한다. 널리 울려퍼지면서 마음을 감싸는 잿빛 안개같은 사운드에 거기서 튀지 않고 묘하게 조화되는 보컬이 인상적. 대체로 노래에서 느껴지는 감정들은 우울하고 잔잔하다기보단 불안과 분노로 다소 격앙되어 있는 모습을 보인다.

보컬이 상당히 중성적인데, 히트곡 Sweater Weather에선 그래도 좀 남자같은 느낌이 나지만 How에선 아예 여자처럼 들릴 정도다. 그래도 라이브에선 완벽한 남자 목소리.
